And The
Award Goes To...
At Gloria Duchin, we look forward to the Oscars and
other awards shows to see what is trending in fashion.
Color schemes, materials and textures, and shapes and sizes are all presented through
the beautiful gowns worn by famous celebrities. The information inspires us in design and new product ideas. Navy Blue,
Emerald Green, and Nude & Sparkles are the three main trends that were
expressed this year. Join us as we recap this years’ Oscar’s On the Red Carpet.
Displaying the illuminating talents
of designer Elie Saab at the 86th Academy
Awards were Angelina Jolie and Sarah Paulson, dressed in their barely there,
sparkling, embellished gowns, of nude and neutral hues. Similar to this
color scheme is our very own Rose Gold Ornament line which will make its first
appearance for Christmas 2014. The sparkling chiffon ribbon accents the piece
just enough to make a statement.
Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year,
Emerald, made another appearance at this year’s Oscar’s. Bill Murray announced
the nominees for Best Cinematography while sporting an emerald green bowtie,
Viola Davis graced the runway in a beautiful emerald green gown, and catching
every beam of light were Calista Flockhart’s stunning emerald earrings.
What a perfect time for Emerald green to come back, during March! The Emerald
Isle awaits you with Swarovski crystals and a Lucky Clover ornament, both of
the radiant emerald green.
While these striking, accented gowns
were big hit at the Oscars this year, a few others stood out of the crowd as
well. Sandra Bullock highlighted her hourglass figure with a flowing navy blue gown,
while Amy Adams’ chic navy gown secured the spot as Huffington Post’s “Navy Blue Winner.” Kevin Spacey and Wolf of Wallstreet star, Leonardo DiCaprio, also
joined these two in stunning navy blue tuxedos. Our “Rejoice In
Every Good Thing” Angel holds a navy blue crystal and next to a flowing gown
lays a navy blue satin ribbon.
