Hippie Chic

"According to the New York Runways, nothing is out of style", quips the Wall Street Journal in an article covering the spring fashion shows. Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet says she wanted to "mix up hippie and hipster" for her collection. What this includes is a lot of fringe on clothing, handbags and boots as well as floor-length floral dresses. The look is updated, fun and flirty, but also speaks to the casual escapism of the 1970's hippie style. Bright colors, flowing fabrics, comfort and confidence are they key.

Shown: Fringe Sweater by D&G, Fringe Handbag by Tory Burch, and Pewter Peace Sign ornament by Gloria Duchin.

For those who hung onto some of those vintage fashions, get them out of storage, air them out and get them ready to wear for the upcoming season!
