Emmy Fashion Trends

The weekly magazines released their Emmy fashion reports this week, forecasting several new trends in fashion and design. What I liked most about the gowns at the awards show was the use of color. Celebrities branched out from black, white and red, and incorporated fuscia, navy and shimmering gold.

Some of the other trends spotted at the event: intricate lacing as seen on Olivia Wilde's Marchesa gown, glittering stones and metallics seen on Christina Applegate and Sandra Oh, and ornate jewelry pieces such as large brooches.

When I was looking through the fashion pages at the use of color and stones, I thought about our pewter Mother heart and Father star ornaments. We updated them this year with fuscia and sapphire Swarovski crystals with matching chiffon ribbons. They make beautiful gifts for family members and add red-carpet color to your tree!
