Gratitude is a word you hear a lot lately. From gratitude journals to daily #gratitude instagram posts, people are focusing their energy on being thankful for all the gifts they are already blessed with. This is why, for 2016, we thought Angels of Gratitude would be especially fitting. Each year, Gloria Duchin creates an exclusive line of Angel ornaments to be sold at CVS stores. Our Angels are collectible gifts, each with their own unique look and story on the back of their giftable boxes. Whether you are looking for a hint of inspiration for your tree, or a pick-me-up for a loved one who is going through a hard time, these ornaments make a great gift.
We present to you our 2016 Angels of Gratitude. You can find them at CVS stores nationwide.

Looking to 2016: Galaxy Trend
It is both futuristic and whimsical, both angular and soft.
The Galaxy trend mixes bubble gum pastels with hard geometry, which can be seen
in surface design, jewelry, and furniture. Plastic and translucent fabrics can
be seen, and the repetition of triangles gives this trend a bit of mystery. The
color story is naturally inspired by the ultraviolet images of the heavens,
while also referencing highly manufactured pigments and textures.
Mirrored sunglasses and moonstone necklaces set the tone. Dresses
appear in bubblegum colors with symmetrical geometric patterns, or plain with
one highly detailed image showcased in the center. Crystals and jewelry take on
a holographic affect and mimic the aurora borealis skies. High shine
plastic-like materials are paired with leathers and cottons.
Home décor takes on a geometric candy wonderland, light in
color, but angular in shape. Natural geodes and stalactite crystals are set in
boxy metal frames in lighting fixtures and side tables. The triangle pattern
can be seen in carpets, upholstery, and playful wall hangings. Geometric facets
are on display in both crystal curtain rods and terracotta hanging planters.

Light colored metallic finishes carry over into the holiday
season. Matte silver and rose gold pair nicely with pastel colored epoxies and
glitter. Bubble gum pink and muted sea green accents are a futuristic and
whimsical take on the classic red and green.

Looking to 2016: Royalty Trend
This trend is one of lush decadence, drawing inspiration
from the upper class aesthetics of various cultures, religions, and historical
eras. The color story is deep and highly saturated jewel tones reminiscent of hand-dyed
fabrics and the rich plant-based pigments of the past. Fabrics and surface
textures are ornately adorned with intricate patterns. We look to Morocco,
India, and the Middle Age era in Europe for surface design, materials, and color
schemes. In fashion, home décor, and holiday, crystals, beads, and metallic
finishes can be seen as an overarching theme for this trend.
In fashion, the Royalty trend can be seen in deep jewel tone
velvets, and fabrics dripping in crystals. Laser-cut filigree patterns add a
modern twist to an ornately beaded gown. References to Middle Age religious
iconography take center stage on dresses, and crowns, rings, and necklaces make
a big statement. Even manicures are reflecting the rich, velvety jewel tone
colors.
In the home, metal accents are seen in antique bronze
finishes with intricate, laser-cut filigree surface textures. Bedding,
upholstery, and accent fabrics show a mix of textures such as velvet, satin,
and suede. Mixing and matching patterns and jewel tone hues can also be seen in
the home.
For the holiday season, we look to royal iconography, such
as the fleur di lis. Rich jewel tone accents on pewter and gold tone finishes,
and big areas of glitter and crystals add a classic and timeless look to your
tree.
